 Kölsch, history, and authentic neighbourhood culture await you on this entertaining brewery tour as a  through the tradition-rich Eigelstein quarter. Among cobblestones, old façades, and rustic brewery taverns, you’ll get to know Cologne from its enjoyable and sociable side. 
 
You’ll learn how Cologne became a brewing city and why an Italian monk is still regarded as the patron saint of Cologne’s brewers today. Exciting anecdotes will also lead you to the mysterious brewery confessional and tell stories of Cologne originals such as the “Freßklötsch,” as well as well-known figures who helped shape the quarter. 
 
The different Kölsch varieties have their own stories, too: What is behind the name Schreckenskammer Kölsch, and what horrors was it once meant to drive away? During a tasting, you’ll get to know selected Kölsch classics such as Schreckenskammer, Gaffel, or Päffgen more closely. An entertaining tour for anyone who wants to experience the special atmosphere of the Eigelstein quarter and Cologne’s brewery culture.
