Discover Cologne’s hidden treasures
-----------------------------------

On 12 September 2027, Cologne’s history opens its doors: for the Open Monument Day®, more than 160 historic monuments invite visitors to experience the city from new perspectives. Many historical sites that are normally inaccessible or only open to a limited extent can be explored free of charge that weekend.

It becomes clear just how closely Cologne’s architectural heritage, its more than 2,000-year history, and life in the city are connected. Discover historic streets, parks, bridges, city gates, churches, and bunkers—as well as special sites including the Wallrafplatz Broadcasting House and the Baptistery.

Guided tours, discussions, lectures, and musical events turn a stroll through the city into a journey through the ages: from Roman antiquity and the post-war period to the present day. A special opportunity to see familiar places in Cologne in a new light and discover the city’s hidden treasures.
