The Alternative Christmas Market at the Garagen Ehrenfeld

 From November 26 to December 20, 2026, a new Christmas market called HOLYHOOD will open in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. On the grounds of the garages at Oskar-Jäger-Straße 179, you’ll find a Christmas market taking place both outdoors in the open area and in the adjacent hall.

In addition to street food, mulled wine, and rotating vendor booths, there’s a special program every weekend. Thursdays are all about “Warm Up and Be Happy”: That’s when the market becomes an after-work hangout with music and mulled wine. On the first weekend of Advent, the Queer Market takes center stage with stalls and music from Cologne’s queer community. On the second weekend of Advent, “Afro Vibrations” brings African music and cuisine to Ehrenfeld.

On the third Sunday of Advent, HOLYHOOD invites visitors to join in Christmas caroling. Throughout the event, there are also hands-on workshops as well as regularly rotating stalls featuring art, jewelry, and products from Cologne-based brands.

HOLYHOOD is open Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m. Admission is free; on Thursdays, admission costs 5 euros.
