The official reopening of the Lindner Hotel City Plaza in the Friesenviertel neighbourhood of Cologne was celebrated at a gala opening party on 26 September. The hotel has become a declaration of love for the city of Cologne with all of its local heroes and close-knit neighbourhoods. Hotel Director Dirk Metzner is justifiably proud of this transformation. “In the past four years we’ve succeeded in making the City Plaza a genuinely kölsch hotel and imbuing it with our city’s special flair. And a very big factor in our success was the great support we’ve received from our partners in Cologne!” he says.
In line with the motto “Experience Cologne”, the graphics and reverse graphics artist Tim Ossege, alias “seiLeise”, created new overall designs for six theme-based floors. Numerous Cologne partners will now permanently be visually represented inside the hotel. They range from the Cologne Tourist Board to Cologne Cathedral, the Chocolate Museum, the Festival Committee of Cologne Carnival, the Cologne Zoo and the headquarters of the fragrance manufacturer 4711. By using QR codes, visitors can call up background information and special offers. For example, on the fourth floor they can access the “urban Cologne” programme (#urbanCGN).
