Büdchen am Nikolausplatz

Drinking hall/coffee shop

A centerpiece of the neighborhood

The kiosk at Nikolausplatz in Cologne Sülz is more than just a kiosk. It reflects the soul of the neighborhood. Nestled within the urban silhouette, its sky-blue facade draws attention and serves as a significant gathering point for the residents.

In 2016, a dedicated resident took over the kiosk, and the following year, the association "Neighbors and Friends of Nikolausplatz" was founded. The goal: to enliven the square through community engagement. The association organizes cultural activities such as art projects and the special mini music festival, which expresses the region's creative diversity and fosters social cohesion.

On balmy summer evenings, the kiosk comes to life and becomes a meeting point for young and old. Children play in the nearby playground, while adults gather over fair-trade coffee from the Sülz roastery or enjoy a Kölsch in the evening sun. The warm atmosphere invites you to pause and meet familiar faces.
