The LANXESS arena is Germany's largest and best-attended multifunctional arena and since 2010 has also ranked among the top 10 arenas worldwide with the highest attendance. Not only concert highlights of international mega stars such as Phil Collins, Justin Bieber, Adele, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé or Shakira take place here. Thanks to state-of-the-art stage, sound and lighting technology, it is not only suitable for concert events, but also for sporting events, musicals or congresses.

Since 2010, the VELUX EHF FINAL4 has established itself as the largest indoor sporting event in Europe and as the emotional home of the Cologne Sharks, the LANXESS arena is also making ice hockey history as the venue for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships in 2001, 2010 and 2017. In addition to the Cologne Sharks, the professionals of VfL Gummersbach also play their home games here. And
