Sammlung Zander
In the Cologne exhibition space of the Zander Collection, solo or group exhibitions of renowned, unknown or forgotten artists from the collection are regularly shown and integrated into contemporary discourses, but also placed in historical contexts.
The Zander Collection is a non-profit organization. It was built up over more than 60 years by Charlotte Zander (1930-2014) and is one of the leading collections of so-called "naive art". The collection also includes works of art brut, "outsider art" and tattoo art.
The aim of the Zander Collection today is to make so-called "naive art" visible so that it can be researched, contextualized and evaluated anew as part of art history. By collaborating with international institutions, curators and academics, the aim is to contribute to the incipient rewriting of the art historical canon, through which art history is told in a more global, diverse and multi-perspective way.
