Wanderer by Innerfields

street art/ art in public space
As part of the "Wall of Vision" project, sponsored by the Dr Hans Riegel Foundation, which is primarily committed to supporting young people, pupils from Kalker Gymnasium KTS worked on the large-scale mural by Innerfields. Obviously, the painting "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" by Caspar David Friedrich is taken up.

Innerfields, however, project the wanderer into a dystopian Cologne of the near future. The work thus fits into the classic theme of the Berlin artist duo, which deals with human alienation from nature in a technologised, digital world. As the modern hiker in the picture demonstrates, the first thing they do is take a selfie.
