Earlier, hammers used to clang on steel here; today, glasses clink and voices mingle with the gentle hum of conversations. The gatekeeper's house at Herbrand’s still stands - as if by accident - and reminds us that here, in the former wagon factory P. Herbrand & Cie, wagons for the entire country were built. Thus, Ehrenfeld’s industrial soul continues to live on between brickwork and beer garden, good conversations, and unrestrained party spirits.
Like much in this district of Cologne, the past is not entirely over here - it just gets a new soundtrack, so to speak. Herbrand's is an event location where many event and culinary threads come together.

With an event hall, club, restaurant, rondel, gatekeeper's house, and beer garden, Herbrand’s offers ample space for a variety of events and occasions. From musical events in Herbrand’s Club to "Dance into May" or comedy and open-mic acts, all the way to other music parties. If you like going out in Ehrenfeld - Herbrand's almost always offers options.Restaurant: Eating and Drinking
In Herbrand’s restaurant, you sit between brick walls at long, communicative tables with a colorful mix of patrons. The menu offers a mixture of Mediterranean cuisine, burgers & pizza, as well as a seasonal menu or daily specials. Additionally, there’s the well-known Sunday brunch for families with a craft offer for children aged three and above - every first Sunday of the month.Enjoy Summer in All Its Glory: in the Beer Garden
With about 800 seats, Herbrand’s beer garden is considered one of the largest within Cologne’s extensive gastronomy scene. On summer weekends, the grill is even fired up here. From the beer garden, it's not far to the restaurant or the detour to the party hall. Convenient.Excursion: to the History of Herbrand's
Where beer is tapped and bands take the stage today, the machines of the wagon factory P. Herbrand & Cie once clattered. Since 1866, streetcars, freight, and passenger cars were built here in Ehrenfeld, and thanks to a direct connection, also sent onto the tracks, directly into the everyday life of the growing city. Even though the industry has long since moved on, much of the past still lingers on the premises. In 1993, Herbrand’s was opened - factory halls became a restaurant, bar, and stage. The old gatekeeper's house still quietly watches over it all.Useful Information
