As darkness falls, Cologne Zoo takes on a very special atmosphere: every day, China Lights transforms the zoo grounds into a colourful winter experience. Under the theme “A Journey Around the World”, an enchanting trail of lights leads you through illuminated landscapes, animal worlds and famous landmarks.

Discover artfully designed light installations featuring animal and fantasy figures, alongside world-famous sights. From the Eiffel Tower, which welcomes you even before you enter, to Stonehenge, the Pyramids of Giza and the Forbidden City, all the way to the Statue of Liberty and Sugarloaf Mountain, travel once around the globe. In keeping with each continent, you will encounter illuminated mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and insects, all created in an imaginative, Asian-inspired style.
