XXL high heels with platform heels, wrapped in a rainbow flag, extravagant hat creations, shrill ball dresses, bikinis, leather outfits, angel wings, devil horns, masks, loincloths, feather jewellery à la bird of paradise, all in black or lots of "nude" - everything is allowed at the ColognePride demonstration. Anything you like, are or want to be, because the CSD demo is all about diversity, tolerance, acceptance and anti-discrimination.
On the last day of the annual ColognePride, around 10,000 participants march from Cologne's Deutz district through the city centre on foot or on wagons. Always on a Sunday, celebrated, marvelled at and cheered on by more than 1 million spectators at the roadside. This makes the CSD demonstration in Cologne one of the largest events for the LGBTQIA+ community in Europe - and the largest in Germany alongside Berlin.
