Your ride begins on the wintry Alter Markt of the 1920s – until suddenly the ground opens beneath you and you descend into a mysterious, illuminated underworld.

There, you encounter the Heinzel at work: in the stonemason’s workshop at the cathedral, in the carpentry shop at the workbench, in the flour-dusted bakery, and in the cooperage among barrels and wine. Inspired by the poem by August Kopisch, the VR experience tells the Cologne legend of the Heinzel’s diligence – and of the moment when their discovery changed everything. In the end, you return to the festively decorated Alter Markt with its grand Christmas tree.
