Chlodwig Eck

pub

Traditional pub with Kölsch culture

The Chlodwig Eck has characterised the lively southern part of Cologne since 1979. Originally founded on Chlodwigplatz, the pub soon moved to its current location on the corner of Annostrasse and Severinswall. The connection to the Cologne tradition remains unbroken: Früh Kölsch has been flowing steadily from the taps here since the beginning, and the atmosphere attracts both night owls and after-work beer connoisseurs to sociable evenings.

Literature, music & more

Clemens Böll, nephew of the famous writer Heinrich Böll, ran the Chlodwig Eck in its early years. This intellectual connection can still be felt today: people interested in literature, art and music meet here. Events range from live concerts to cultural competitions such as the "Kölsche Musik Bänd Kontest" or "Loss mer Singe", which cultivate the cultural heritage of the region.

Football and carnival

Due to the enthusiasm for football in Cologne, the Chlodwig Eck offers the opportunity to watch Bundesliga and Champions League matches on screens and televisions. Especially during carnival, the pub becomes a vibrant place for socialising, where tradition and joie de vivre are celebrated in harmony.

The Chlodwig Eck is not just a drinking establishment, but a place that combines the past and present of Cologne culture. A visit is an authentic experience of Rhenish joie de vivre that creates far-reaching cultural and historical connections.
