TRINK-Genossin

bar / lounge

Cooperative, sustainable and vibrant

A bar by everyone, for everyone – the TRINK-Genossin in Neuehrenfeld is a prime example of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship. Founded by former design students Kai Berthold and Jan Buckenmayer, it is Cologne's first cooperative bar. The vision: a place that is democratically managed and focuses on diversity, creativity, and connection.

What happens when 200 people collectively own and run a bar? Members – currently 207 of them – purchase a cooperative share, becoming co-owners, employees, and co-creators all at once. Decisions, from the drinks menu to events like art exhibitions and concerts, are made collectively. The bar was funded through a crowdfunding campaign.

With freshly tapped Mühlen Kölsch, organic wine from Rheinhessen, and regional spirits, the TRINK-Genossin offers carefully curated drinks. Its ethos of sustainability also shines through in its promotion of local products. The audience is a vibrant mix: neighbors, friends, and the curious – here, people share, discuss, and celebrate together.

The TRINK-Genossin represents a place that is not just a meeting point but a reflection of lived social responsibility.
