The Ehrenfeld Art Route invites visitors to explore the artistic diversity of the district in a new way. Numerous studios, workshops and self-organized project spaces open their doors on a weekend and enable direct encounters with artists who have been experimenting, producing and setting urban impulses here for years. The event sees itself as a decentralized parcours that functions without a fixed dramaturgy and thus leaves room for individual paths through painting, photography, installation, illustration, sculpture or experimental media art. Many places are otherwise not open to the public and provide insights into production processes, material decisions and working methods that often remain invisible during exhibitions. At the same time, the route reflects the specific dynamics of Ehrenfeld - a district that has repeatedly produced cultural microstructures throughout its history and in which community-organized culture still plays a formative role today. The art route is supported by committed art protagonists who not only show their work, but also see a willingness to engage in discourse, exchange and critical reflection as an integral part of the event.
