The Stadtwald forest in the borough of Lindenthal belongs to the so-called “Äußerer Grüngürtel”, the outer green belt. In 1895, the forest was first planted on the premises of the former Kitschburg manor. It was later extended by several parks. Boasting three artificial ponds, the Stadtwald forest is very popular for its enchanting ambiance and healthy relaxation. The Adenauer Weiher pond is located in the northern part and further to the east there is a small pond, which was connected to another pond by a channel in 1920. The whole complex stretches to the south-east via Decksteiner Weiher pond to the borough of Sülz, where it adjoins Beethovenpark.
For energetic visitors and families with children there is a wide selection of activities: jogging, pony riding, a hands-on children’s zoo, and an animal park. Uncountable lawns invite to enjoy a picnic in the green.
