Hydraulic and mental connections

From June 13, 2025, the Empire Zero One Gallery in Cologne-Ehrenfeld presents the exhibition "Hydraulic and Mental Connections", a sophisticated juxtaposition of two independent artistic cosmos.

The works of Kristof Meyer and Daniel Ben-Benyamin enter into an intimate dialog that raises fundamental questions about human perception and the dynamics between mind and matter. While Meyer's surrealistic oil paintings on canvas and wood provide intimate insights into the labyrinths of the subconscious and visualize psychic inner worlds, Ben-Benyamin focuses on monumental, photorealistic paintings with industrial references. His visual language, dominated by precision and symmetry, metaphorically reflects the invisible mechanics of social structures and physical processes that determine our everyday lives.

This carefully choreographed interrelationship between physical forces and mental states, created by both artists, allows visitors to gain deeper insights into the connections between technical development, social dynamics and the human psyche.
"Hydraulic and Mental Connections" invites visitors to look at the world with an analytical eye and reflect in depth on invisible forces and interconnections, but without seeking simplistic answers.
