In September 2025, the Sancta Clara Keller in Cologne will be the setting for a unique musical dialog between the clavichord, the quietest instrument of the Baroque era, and the glamorous concert harpsichord. In a moderated concert, the musician Tatjana Vorobjova unfolds the spectrum of expressive possibilities of both instruments, which have often been underestimated but played an important role in the Baroque era. Their unique sound character and the special tone production of the clavichord, which can produce nuances through flexible finger pressure, enable a deep experience of musical expression. Works by masters such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude will be performed, offering a direct insight into the musical world of the 17th and 18th centuries. This concert invites you to rediscover the historical and cultural significance of such instruments and experience their subtle power, transporting the audience back to a bygone era.
