The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) of the Cologne Tourist Board produced five video clips with partners from the sector to promote Cologne as a convention destination. The clips, which are a component of the recovery initiative “Cologne. Ready when you are”, demonstrate that it is possible to hold events in Cologne which are safe and compliant with the coronavirus regulations.
Five testimonials – emblematic for the multifaceted MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Congresses, Events) – present altered daily work routines under the influence of the pandemic. In the clips, Koelnmesse represents the trade fair and convention segment through its concept B-SAFE4business whereas the Lanxess arena stands for the venues and event locations. The caterer Kaiserschote presents business catering, the 25hours Hotel The Circle exemplifies Cologne’s hotel business, and a taxi driver speaks for the transportation sector. All of them show how they are preparing for the day when events can once again be held under safe conditions.
“The convention and meeting industry has been severely affected by the coronavirus crisis. We want event planners to know that our partners from the MICE sector in Cologne are cooperatively doing everything in their power to enable the execution of safe events,” explains Dr. Jürgen Amann, CEO of the Cologne Tourist Board. “Cologne is ready and looking forward to welcome the congress and convention business.”
The five video clips with English subtitles are embedded in the overall digital communications of the Cologne Tourist Board. They can be viewed on the social media channels like LinkedIn and Facebook as well as YouTube and are also embedded in the homepage of the Cologne Convention Bureau locations.cologne. Partners are also free to use the clips as part of their recovery initiative.
