At the entrance to the Hohenzollernbrücke bridge on the east bank of the Rhine stands an equestrian statue of King Friedrich Wilhelm IV (1795 – 1861), who ruled Prussia from 1840 until his death. He was succeeded on the throne by his brother Wilhelm I, whose equestrian statue is just a few meters away. Both of the statues previously stood at the former Dombrücke bridge.
