Museum/Exhibition
The basis of the collection is the August Sander Archive, the world's largest collection of the famous Cologne photographer (1876-1964). With a view to Sander's objective and concept-oriented photography, the collection was expanded to include further works related to his approach by other historically important and contemporary artists such as Bernd and Hilla Becher, Kad Blossfeldt, Jim Dine, and Candida Hofer. Die Photographische Sammlung shows its own holdings as well as loans from other institutions in ever-changing temporary exhibitions.
