From July 7 to 13, 2025, the Climate Festival will transform Cologne into a dynamic platform for forward-looking discussions and innovative approaches to climate protection. With the expansion of the previous Climate Week into a multi-faceted festival, the debate on sustainable lifestyles and urban responsibility will take on a new dimension.
Under the motto "Viva la Green", which will culminate on July 11 in the Gürzenich, Cologne's citizens, initiatives and well-known personalities will celebrate creative commitment and joint action for the protection of our natural resources. Numerous venues in the city's social and cultural life - including Cologne's museums, Cologne Zoo, the Cologne Philharmonic Hall and extraordinary urban spaces - will open their doors to a wide range of interactive formats, art and discourse.
The "Green Nights" are a special highlight of the festival. Various clubs that are actively involved in climate protection take part. Following the other program items, the "Green Nights" invite people to come together, exchange ideas and talk about experiences and ideas.
The climate festival not only highlights technological innovations, but also offers all visitors encounters with individual stories and authentic perspectives on the topic of climate justice and regional responsibility. With a colourful network of local actors such as Museumsdienst Köln, Querwaldein e.V., RheinEnergie, DingFabrik Köln e.V., Sonnenblumenfreund*innen Sülz or Allerweltshaus Köln and many more, a lively social exchange is created that sets impulses that reach far beyond the festival.
