Cologne Creative Summer

The Cologne Creative Summer transforms the RheinEnergieSTADION into an open experimental space where materials science, craftsmanship and creative practice come together. Over three days, more than 120 exhibitors will present a wide range of tools and raw materials - from textile fibers, fabrics and yarns to paper, glass and beads to products for painting, modeling and dyeing. The stadium roof creates a weather-protected open-air setting that combines the character of a market with the structure of a professionally organized trade fair. The central idea is to understand design as a reflective process: Materials are not seen as a quick consumer option, but as a starting point for long-lasting, individual objects. An extensive workshop program offers the opportunity to try out new techniques, improve existing skills and exchange ideas with colleagues - from crocheting, knitting and sewing to artistic and craft techniques such as glasswork, painting and paper design. Barrier-free access, level paths and suitable sanitary facilities make it easier for people in different life situations to participate.
