Cologne Wine Week
From 3 to 14 June, experienced wine connoisseurs and curious gourmets alike will gather for the 52nd Cologne Wine Week on the centrally located Neumarkt. For a fortnight, this public square will be transformed into a stage for German wine, with winegrowers from various regions presenting their products. Precious wines take centre stage - white wines such as Riesling, rosé and full-bodied Pinot Noir.
Beyond the purely culinary, a space for exchange and understanding opens up, expert dialogues between winegrowers and visitors about cultivation methods, terroir philosophies and sustainability concepts characterise the event. Food stands offer regional dishes, including tarte flambée, baked mushrooms and pan-fried dishes, which accompany the flavourful nuances of the tasted wines. This is where enjoyment and cultural aspirations merge: a convivial place that promotes regionality, visualises the diversity of German wines and subtly reflects sustainable consumption patterns.
