The big Kollwitz festival for the reopening

On October 11 and 12, 2025, the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne will open its doors after extensive renovations with a major celebration weekend. The event promises a rich program that brings the unmistakable connection between art, society and history to life. The exhibition "KOLLWITZ NEU SEHEN" invites visitors to discover the artist's works in a new light. Kollwitz' examination of war, peace and social justice is timelessly relevant and encourages discourse. The museum also offers creative workshops in which visitors can become active themselves, as well as guided tours to explore the topic in greater depth. Particularly noteworthy is the POLYLUX youth club, whose play "TRAUER//FALL" addresses current social challenges and encourages reflection. For younger guests, there are discovery tours and a children's quiz with the museum mascot Pitti. The opening will thus be a unique experience that appeals to visitors of all ages and transports the spirit of Käthe Kollwitz authentically and vividly into the present day.
