After three years of renovation, the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln will shine in new splendour from 11 October 2025 and invites visitors to discover both well-known and previously lesser-known works by the artist Käthe Kollwitz. The exhibition ‘KOLLWITZ NEU SEHEN’ honours the 80th anniversary of the artist's death and the 40th anniversary of the museum.
With a new hanging and the integration of previously unknown works, the multifaceted nature of Kollwitz' creative work is once again brought to the fore. Particular attention will be paid to the artist's female and socially critical perspectives. The omnipresence of social inequality and gender-specific challenges is thematised - aspects that moved Kollwitz and are still relevant today. Visitors are given impressive access to the concerns, hopes and solidarity that Kollwitz conveys through the expressiveness of her art.
