German Boomerang Championship

The German Boomerang Championships will return to Cologne on June 13 and 14, 2026, bringing a sporting culture steeped in tradition to the expansive grounds of the Jahnwiese. A temporary course will be created on the site, combining the six classic disciplines of this precision sport - from throwing series that require endurance to technically demanding catching maneuvers. In addition to the competitors, who operate within a clearly defined set of rules, the event is also open to curious visitors: A beginners' workshop teaches the basics of the sports equipment, whose seemingly simple flight behavior only reveals its aerodynamic sophistication on closer inspection. Those who make their first successful catch will take their own boomerang home with them. The program is complemented by a small market with refreshments and handmade models. The event is free of charge and is run by an experienced Cologne organizer who has been involved in international competitions for many years.
