Rabatz!

Drama

An evening of radical playfulness

RABATZ! unfolds an intense play with perception and levels of meaning at Depot 1 that moves beyond familiar narrative patterns. Herbert Fritsch and his ensemble rely on physical precision and non-verbal forms of expression that are reminiscent of Dadaist methods and at the same time reflect contemporary irritations. The performers act in a space that is characterized by choreographed impulses, eruptive dynamics and the deliberate dissolution of linguistic structures. The result is a scenario that makes it possible to experience the fragility of orientation and at the same time poses the question of which forms of meaning production are still viable in a crisis-prone present. The piece, which lasts around seventy minutes without an intermission, opens up a resonance space in which chaos functions not as a vanishing point but as an analytical tool. Visitors encounter a production that plays with uniformity, disruption and exaggeration without claiming to be clearly legible - an evening that dares to cross aesthetic boundaries and focuses on the ambivalences of collective experiences of the present.
