Rheinuferfest

Festival/open-air

Craftsmanship, culinary delights and a panoramic view of the Rhine

From 17 to 19 July, Cologne's Rhine promenade between Hohenzollern Bridge and Bastei will be transformed into a multifaceted festival mile. Numerous traders offer a regionally oriented range of goods, from handmade natural soaps to handmade bags and individually designed pieces of jewellery. Against the backdrop of the summery Rhine panorama, with a view of Cologne's Tanzbrunnen and Rheinpark, sustainable consumption of aesthetic products is combined with the history of a traditional trading and meeting culture on the Rhine. In culinary terms, the event scores with proven classics of the Rhine region: in addition to Kölsch beer and wine, authentic specialities such as Flammlachs and Rievkooche are on the programme. An informal stroll and enjoyment along the promenade opens up the space to perceive the social and cultural significance of the Rhine as a lifeline and meeting place in a new way.
