Music festival between tradition and avant-garde

A festival that turns cologne's romanesque churches into resonance spaces – from june 22 to june 27, the romanesque summer brings to life the impressive interplay of architecture, history, and sound art. Under the motto "peace," international artists and local stalwarts come together to reinterpret music styles like jazz, avant-garde, and early music in unique ways.

The twelve romanesque churches, masterpieces of sacred architecture deeply rooted in cologne's history, become acoustic stages, where exceptional architectural craftsmanship reflects the sounds in a special way. The festival is not only a musical journey but also an invitation to pause, to become aware of the past and present, and to experience, through music, a moment of peace together.

The romanesque night on june 27 marks the highlight of a week full of encounters that go far beyond the musical and raise questions about coexistence and harmony. An experience that is one of a kind and uniquely urban cologne – driven by diversity and expressiveness.
