TOUCH THE LINE

“TOUCH THE LINE” is a theatrical performance by Emel Aydoğdu about boundaries, life paths, and the delicate question of where belonging begins or ends. Over the course of about 70 minutes, the production weaves together fictional and biographically grounded narratives into a polyphonic evening that explores—in German, Turkish, and Kurdish—how people assert themselves amid their origins, language, memory, and societal expectations. Here, borders appear not only as dividing lines but as ambivalent structures: they can protect, provide orientation, exclude, or open up new spaces. With Gaia Pellegrini, Burçin Keskin, and Emmanuel Edoror, a theatrical space of resonance is created in which personal fractures and political circumstances are not pitted against one another. With dramaturgical guidance by Guido Rademachers, costumes by Andrea Barba, and set design by Aliki Anagnostakis, the performance prioritizes precision over assertion. The performance invites the audience to reflect on self-perception, migration, social conditioning, and the boundaries people must draw in order not to lose sight of one another.
