In 1875, master baker Caspar Zimmermann laid the foundation stone for a tradition that continues to this day. Originally built on the foundations of Cologne's historic city wall, the bakery became a symbol of consistency and craftsmanship. These handwritten recipes stand the test of time, giving the bakery its unique character.
Family tradition and craftsmanship
Magnus Zimmermann, grandson of the founder, took over the bakery and continued the traditional customs. Supported by his wife Christa, they preserved the integrity of the craft by ignoring modern baking trends and avoiding artificial additives. TThe success of the bakery is based on artisanal tradition, careful processing and selected ingredients. The present and responsibility
Today, Markus and Andreas Zimmermann are the fifth generation to run the business. The mixture of historical knowledge and modern standards makes the bakery a valued place of enjoyment. Zimmermann’s breads are known for their distinctive flavour – a classic culinary experience shaped by artisanal production and careful processing.Useful Information
