Aachener Weiher

Between museums, the city and Cologne's mounds of rubble

The green meadows around the Aachener Weiher are an extremely popular meeting place for students, sun bathers, sportspeople and those looking to relax. Situated between Lindenthal and the Belgian Quarter and not far from the university, it is a trendy meeting place for Cologne residents and, of course, also for visitors. And culture seekers will find the Museum of East Asian Art right next door.

On hot summer days and warm summer nights, this small part of Cologne's Grüngürtel (green belt) can be really cozy, in keeping with the motto "see and be seen. In the beer garden of the same name, hunger and thirst can be quenched with a view of the pond.

In the cool season it becomes quieter around the pond and so it is an ideal place to relax or go for a walk.
