Monument
In the inner courtyard of the Cologne Museum of Applied Arts, which is open to the public, there is a statue of an angel holding a painter’s palette in its hands. The statue is more than seven meters high and is part of a fountain. The angel statue is in honor to Stefan Lochner, the master artist of the Cologne school of medieval painting. It was dedicated in 1953 on the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death.
