Touring the city topless

A familiar concept in new territory: The experiences you have and the length of your route will depend on you when you’re touring Cologne in an open-top double-decker bus. It’s exactly the right vehicle for your journey of discovery through our metropolis on the Rhine.

In the summer, the wind in your hair will blow away the heat of the day, because the bus will be “topless”. Incidentally, topless swimming is also not unusual in our cosmopolitan city’s outdoor pools.

Hop on, hop off: Seeing Cologne by bus

Thanks to the popular “hop on, hop off” concept, you can leave the bus as often as you like at the central bus stops, take a look at the most important sights, and get back on just as often as you please. It all depends on your individual taste — and how much you want to see.

Bus tour with an audio guide

The bus tour, which takes you to 15 stops, lasts about an hour and a half in total. Through your headphones you’ll hear information worth knowing about highlights along the route such as museums, cultural venues, shopping opportunities and local attractions. The audio guide is available in many different languages. If you like, just stay seated — and explore Cologne the easy way, entirely by bus.

Stops and local attractions along the bus route

Your tour begins at the cathedral and then takes you to Cologne’s Altstadt (Old Town), passing by the Gürzenich medieval banqueting hall and continuing southward to the Chocolate Museum. We then cross the Rhine to show you the LANXESS arena, drive past the Odysseum science museum, and cross the Rhine again to take a look at the Zoo and the Flora botanic garden. After passing Ebertplatz, we return to the cathedral. Enjoy the ride!
