Impressions
The youngest Romanesque church in Cologne has its impact on the Rhine panorama in the North of the cathedral city. It was completed in 1247, one year before the foundation stone of Cologne cathedral was laid.
In St. Kunibert the relatively rich furnishings have been kept from the Middle Ages. Thus altars on the nave pillars indicate the former monastic church character. Of particular note is the proclamation group from the 15th century, which marks the former interior chancel. Equally important are the extensively retained murals in the chancel, the original flooring around the high altar and above all the windows from the early 13th century. A modern view of a special kind is from the new treasury with the church treasure in the west nave.
