St. Severin has its origins in the late 4th century. The church was extended and greatly enlarged several times. The exterior appearance is mainly Gothic, only the choir was left in Romanesque style. In the conserved and accessible excavation area below the church, the foundation remains of the original building can be visited. St. Severin is still richly decorated: the murals in the crypt, the choir with a part of the medieval floor, the original choir stalls and the high altar. Behind the high altar on a pedestal is the shrine of St. Severine. Worth seeing are the 14th century fork crucifix and the late Gothic stained glass in the nave.
