City tour through the popular district

An informative guided tour through the Agnes quarter, which developed as an upper middle-class district at the gates of the medieval city wall. Through the oldest part of the Veedel, the Dreikönigen quarter, we reach the heart of the district: the neo-Gothic church of St. Agnes. We walk through a marked mixture of former working-class district and one of the most exclusive residential areas of the 19th century. Everyday life is at home on the vibrant Neusser Straße. The classier part of the district is characterized by magnificent Wilhelminian-style palaces and the castle - as Heinrich Böll called the Upper Law Court. Our walk takes us to Fort X, which was part of the Prussian fortifications and near which a legendary boxing match once took place.
