Richard Wagner: Götterdämmerung

Classic

Masterpiece in the original sound

Kent Nagano conducts Wagner's "Götterdämmerung" in historically informed performance practice with the Dresden Festival Orchestra and Concerto Köln at the Cologne Philharmonie on June 4, 2026. The production is part of the multi-year project "The Wagner Cycles", which interprets Wagner's "Ring" on the basis of current research with original instruments, lowered vocal pitch and reconstructed singing and playing style from the time of the premiere. The HIP approach focuses on transparency, precision and textual comprehensibility; earlier parts of the cycle were praised for their clear structures and analytical reading. Soloists such as Åsa Jäger (Brünnhilde) and Young Woo Kim (Siegfried) shape the concert performance, which presents the finale of the "Ring des Nibelungen" in its entirety.
