Thomas Baumgärtel - Apokalypse

Exhibition

Art meets the critical present

In the Erlöserkirche Cologne, the exhibition "Apocalypse" by renowned street artist Thomas Baumgärtel creates an interactive art experience that addresses and critically reflects on socially relevant topics. Baumgärtel, known as the "banana sprayer", reinterprets the apocalyptic horsemen from the Book of Revelation and presents them as symbols of the pressing global challenges of our time. This exhibition invites visitors to engage with complex problems such as climate change, wars and social crises. Accompanying events, such as the "Stations of Resonance", create space for dialog and reflection. Here you can exchange ideas at stations with books and music or take part in the art sale. Special attention is paid to hope and resistance, which are to be encouraged through creative processes and critical thinking. The Erlöserkirche is opening its doors to this impressive event until November 22, 2025, Wednesdays to Sundays.
