The Fühlinger See sports and recreation facility was created from a former gravel pit and inaugurated in 1978. The 200-hectare facility offers the best conditions for hiking, horseback riding and, of course, water sports. Seven small sub-lakes are home to paddlers, rowers, anglers and divers.
For swimmers, there is Black Foot Beach, which is supervised by the DLRG. Here there is also the beach location of the same name, where you can experience a real holiday feeling. With a cool drink, sand between your toes and a place on the beach bed, you can enjoy yourself here. Canoes and stand-up paddleboards are available for hire here, but it is advisable to book in advance.
The centrepiece is the regatta course, where rowing and canoeing competitions are held regularly.
There are plenty of ways to spend a lovely summer's day here. Barbecues, picnics and sunbathing are literally inviting, and there are plenty of opportunities for the sporty types to be active. And the little ones look forward to a lovely children's playground with numerous pieces of equipment on the rowing island.
