The africologneFESTIVAL returns from June 11 to 22, 2025 and once again combines transnational artistic voices from Africa and the Afro-diaspora with Cologne's urban culture. On various stages in the city, africologne will present contemporary dance, theater, music, media art and film pieces that will provide impressive impulses for social debates on diversity and decolonization. With a program that celebrates multi-perspectivity and openly addresses the uncomfortable, the festival offers a platform for new narratives off the beaten cultural track. Artists tell their stories in a self-determined way - a conscious counterpart to the mainstream, authentically interwoven with critical reflection and collective exchange. Encounters with international and local actors enable visitors to gain unusual perspectives on social developments. Talks and introductions create spaces for deeper insights and exciting discussions that invite reflection and exchange and once again make it possible to experience Cologne as a cosmopolitan and creative stage.
